If you're keen to try something less frantic, here are two puzzle/platformer games I've enjoyed: Blocks That Matter and it's sequel Tetrobot and Co., both of which are slow paced enough to be played easily with a trackpad. All three of those can be played by keyboard alone, but some people find Super Meat Boy better with a controller, and the original Binding of Isaac has some mouse control features that can be pretty useful. Between those three I have probably clocked up over 500 hours of game time total. These are all pretty difficult, but they're rewarding when you begin to master the game's systems and begin to get better. If you're okay with unrelentingly difficult Indie games, you might want to have a look at Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac, or the recent remake called The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.
